  I need advice or answeres.....help please....

  hi, my name is alison and i am having a very hard time to accept what is going on in my life.

  hopefully anyone that can help me can certainly will receive much more from jehovah.. also i find by writing about my story can help other individuals going through the same thing can help make them to make wise decisions in life.... i am 21 years old and my ex boyfriend is 25 years old .

  we were going out for one year and three months which is unfortunate it could not last longer.

  Witnesses are not allowed to date "worldly" people. He was being unfaithful to his religion (not God) when he was with you. Be careful that your heart does not get you trapped in an abusive cult trying to get him back. It probably won't happen. He is trying to put that time behind him and probably wants a Witness girl to salve his consciense.

  In the meantime, you may want to look at moving on too. If you choose to study this religion, do it from all sides. Read on this board and google for more information. A good question to ponder on is why he was not allowed to even talk with you so suddenly? Why are children and parents not allowed to talk with one another for life if one chooses to belong to a different religion after being raised a Witness?

  Be careful because they have a way of making you think you are really loved until you get baptized, it's called love bombing. Look up some info on cults too. That will explain much of what you are experiencing.

  Is Fading Worth it?

  from time to time members of jwd will post an experience of receiving a letter or an email from a still believing family member or friend encouraging them to "return to jehovah" or the "organization".

  sometimes an intense amount of guilt is applied to the letter receiver.

  guilt for having left jehovah or for turning their back on their family/friends.

  Fading is a long process. I hate the fact that I can't say what I think. Then I realize that it wouldn't do any good right now. It would have to fall on an open mind and my family has not shown that yet.

  I call it the "in between land", because you're not a jw, but still restricted by their nonsense if you are trying to maintain family relationships. I have grown children I raised in this mess and I feel personally responsible to get them out, if possible. They are such beautiful persons and I would love to see them spared a life of waiting for Armegeddon, like mine has been.

  For this reason alone, I say it is worth it.

  Where's the Great Crowd?

  sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseum, but i'm at work and don't have time to search...i'm having a discussion (argument) with my jw hubby about the location of the great crowd.

  we've looked at rev.

  4 through 7 and he agrees with me that everything is in heaven "before the throne" until we get to the great crowd... does anyone have any easy-to-understand comments on this subject?

  I'm with Steve2 at the beach. Much more beautiful and relaxing. My mind hurts after reading just some of this post. Why does it all have to be so tedious and difficult?

  I received a package from my mother today

  my dub mother sent me a package today, inside was a nwt bible, a picture of me around age 5 at an assembly - i looked miserable and my dad was holding a battery operated fan in front of me, and a letter, here is the letter.

  i ask that you remember that i was 18 when i left and i'm now 42, that there is a total of 8 children in my family and there are only 2 that are still jw's, oh and that my mother is a complete nutcase!

  What Drew said. The response about scientology might help her see how ridiculous she sounds? Probably not?

  I really hate org. and people who tear families apart for the purpose of silly beliefs. I mean, think about it, what are beliefs anyway? Just stories of the mind. They have no bearing on what is real and pure in life.

  She probably is just repeating what she heard at a meeting. Doesn't make it much easier, I'm sure, but she is under extreme mind control.

  Hope she wakes up to the opportunity to love the beautiful daughter that she has been given.

  i believe in god, but i also realize he may not exist.. if you don't believe in god, i really don't care, i'm just curious.. i don't have this need to start threads like "why you must believe in god", or other such nonsense, but some of you still have this "control" issue that you thought you left in the org.

  it seems like you must still try to control what others think.

  I just mostly skip those threads. The angry persuasion turns me off as much as someone telling me they are a prophet and God has chosen them to preach to the rest of us.

  I hope you really don't care, Warlock, because I think you are going to hear from them.

  Is JWD a healthy place to be for those who have left the Watchtower?

  everyday, that i read, write, think and talk about the watchtower society makes me think whether or not i have really left it for good.. .

  i fail to see the good in reliving the past in this way.

  the discussion board features individuals that have 3 to 6 years on the board and individuals who have left the organization more.

  Some diseases are chronic. Support groups are good for those things. I believe the abuse suffered at the hands of the jws is also a chronic issue. So what's so bad about a support group?

  That would fit a few meds, actually. Which one are you talking about? You know the more diseases they get a drug approved for, the larger the market and the more money they rake in.

  well, i'm here at the convention, and boy is it a dozer.

  all the speakers blur together - they all sound like the same exact person with their superficial emphasis on the "key points.

  " today was a tad juicy, with the "stay away from the demon-enhanced apostates" symposium and the "you don't need an education to scrub toilets, jerk" talk as well.

  Very amusing! I have often wanted to scream out at conventions. They are mind numbing. The last assembly I attended, I counted the ceiling tiles. There were 144,000! Think that was a coincidence or not? Kept me distracted for a while.
